Arris has appointed Ming Wu as vice president of business development for the Chinese marketplace.

Wu will represent the company as it identifies new business opportunities and works with government ministries and cable operators to help deploy triple play cable services.

He reports to Stan Brovont, Arris’ SVP of business development and marketing, and will work out of the Arris offices in Beijing and Shenzhen.

Wu was formerly chief operating officer and vice president of research and development at state-owned China Cable Networks (CCN), the only state-owned cross-region cable TV operator in China.

Previously, he spent several years at Dell Computers as its greater China director and at Nortel Networks, where he was research and development director for Nortel's wireline products.

He started his career in telecommunications at MCI Corp, where he was a global network senior manager of engineering.
