Bharti Airtel has joined the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA).
 
The industry body has also signed up news content provider NDTV and media and entertainment company Star TV India.
 
The Indian pay TV market is growing at a CAGR of nearly 10%, and has sustained this momentum for the last five years, CASBAA said.
 
There are currently around 92 million cable and satellite homes, including 23 million DTH households.
 
And the market is expected to overtake China as the biggest pay-TV market in Asia within the next 12 months.
