CBOSS deploys network for Burundi startup

Telecom vendor CBOSS has announced that it has completed the deployment of a mobile network for Burundi startup Lacell SU.

CBOSS provided a turnkey deployment for Lacell, which included both the hardware for the network and a software support network.

Lacell contracted CBOSS to begin deployment of its product offering for sartups, CBOSSconvergence3, in February last year. By May, Lacell was able to launch its first post-paid services, and its offered its first pre-paid services in July.

The contract was Lacell's first installation in Africa.

Lacell offers services under the Smart mobile brand, and has a license for providing GSM-based voice calls and SMS in the whole of Burundi.
