(Xinhua via NewsEdge) China's Ministry of Information Industry (MII) said on its official Web site that China should implement one-way charging in an all-round way while cutting down general charges for telecom services.

Market observers read the statement as the Chinese government's ever-first official confirmation that one-way charges will be implemented nationwide.

Zeng Jianqiu, a professor with the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, said that it is mature for China to carry out the policy and he also suggested the government to give telecom enterprises two years for preparation.

Meanwhile, MII said on the forum it will also reduce the domestic roaming charges by lowering the ceiling price.
But a new ceiling price remains to be defined.

Besides, the ministry urges telecom operators to increase the transparency of service chargers and simplify highly complicated service kits.
