Ciena appoints CTO for APAC

Ciena has appointed Karl Horne to chief technology officer for Asia Pacific, to oversee the company’s expansion into key Asian markets.

Based out of Hong Kong, Horne will be responsible for network architecture and technology strategies for Ciena in the region.

He has served in several capacities within Ciena, including chief technologist and leadership positions in portfolio management, system engineering and product line management.

Horne has more than 22 years of industry experience in telecoms and technology, and has also held engineering leadership positions with Scientific Atlanta and AT&T Tridom.
