Openwave CEO Ken Denman highlights its milestones this year.
At the outset of 2010, we introduced several new software solutions designed to help our customers capitalize on the tremendous opportunities created by the rising demand for mobile data services. These include the Media Optimizer, Passport: Smart Policy Edition, Mobile Analytics, and Email Mx: Stateless Storage Edition, which enable our customers to more effectively manage their network resources and identify new monetization opportunities.
We're also integrating our solutions with leading technology partners to provide a more complete solution to our customers. We announced a partnership with F5, a global leader in application delivery networking, to integrate its traffic and policy management solutions with its BIG-IP solutions.
Since the launch of our Media Optimizer, we have worked with 34 service providers globally to trial it. We also have announced several customers that have deployed the solution, including du, an integrated telecom service provider in the United Arab Emirates, and Cable & Wireless, a UK-based communications integrator.
We continue to gain traction for our Integra software platform, with deployments at major carriers around the world, including KDDI in Japan, Sprint in the US, Telstra in Australia, Telefonica Spain and Vodacom South Africa.
We also see traction with our Email Mx platform and launched a new stateless storage edition of the product designed to help operators offer near limitless storage capacity at a significantly lower cost than current solutions available on the market today.
We opened of an office in Kuala Lumpur in October to address our growing customer base in Malaysia and throughout the region, and hired a new area vice president, Petah Green, to oversee our APAC sales efforts.
What are the key trends that have supported your growth/success?
The growth in mobile data demand, driven primarily by video traffic, has greatly contributed to the success of our new products. Openwave products are designed to help enable operators to leverage existing network assets and use them to optimize and monetize data traffic.
First revenue drop in 13 years signals that smartphones and tablets are reaching market maturity
