Dell's Q3 profit shrank 54% year-on-year to $337 million, while revenue declined 15% to $12.89 billion. But the PC-maker said it was seeing signs of improvement in underlying IT demand.

October was another record month for Indian subscriber adds, with the 16.67 million new mobile customers taking total teledensity to 44.87, according to Trai.

Avaya has received clearance from the European Commission to acquire Nortel’s enterprise solutions business. Avaya expects to close the transaction in December 2009.

Mid-sized Philippine operators Digitel and BayanTel have reduced their losses in Q3, on the back of higher service revenues and a stronger Philippine Peso.
