Two ZTE engineers kidnapped by the Taleban in Pakistan last year are suing the company and their employer, a Xian-based contracting firm called Jiangbo, for not paying their salaries or medical bills, scmp.com reported.

Telefónica O2 Germany has contracted Ericsson to provide and install an IMS core system with a VoIP application server.

Ericsson has signed the first license agreement for LTE patents, and expects to expand its more than 80 existing patent agreements to cover LTE in the long-term.

Huawei and TeliaSonera subsidiary Netcom have trialed VoD, web browsing, FTP and video conferencing over TeliaSonera's live LTE network in Oslo, Norway.

Music copyright group ASCAP has taken US carriers - such as AT&T - to court, arguing that ringtones should be subject to a second "live performance" fee, paid by the operators, because they often play in public.

US operator T-Mobile will launch its second Android phone in August. The myTouch 3G will retail for $199.99 on a two-year contract.

Telstra and Salmat VeCommerce will supply a voice biometric solution to the National Australia Bank (NAB). NAB will be the first bank to deploy a voice identification system.
