HKT wins $13m in transport contracts

HKT, the telecom business spinoff of PCCW, has won two contracts from the Transport Department in Hong Kong.

The contracts are to provide communication services for the existing traffic signal control and closed circuit television (CCTV) systems managed by the department.

The deals are valued at a combined HK$100 million ($12.9 million).

Under the contracts, PCCW will provide communication links for:

  1. Transmission of data between on-street traffic signal controllers and related equipment and traffic control centers, and also between traffic control centers;
  2. Transmission of CCTV images between on-street CCTV cameras and traffic control centers, and also between traffic control centers;
  3. Transmission of data between equipment and workstations accommodated at various locations for traffic control and monitoring, and office automation applications.
