IT underspending hampering business growth: survey

ICT leaders worldwide believe underspending on IT has harmed innovation and cost businesses customers during the recession, according to a study by BT Global Services.
 
The 13-country survey found that a quarter of CIOs and senior business executives believe that underspending on IT has prevented them from winning business. A similar number also feel that IT budget cuts have harmed innovation.
 
Nearly two thirds of CIOs and senior executives also believe that aging IT hardware is acting as a barrier to their companies' ability to perform as a global business.
 
The survey was conducted by Datamonitor.
