JETCO will adopt Gemalto’s Ezio Mobile Suite, including servers for mobile enrolment and provisioning, authentication and messaging, to help secure P2P mobile payments in Hong Kong.

JETCO is a bank consortium of more than 30 member banks in Hong Kong and Macau which operates its own inter-bank network.

Gemalto's solution, integrated with JETCO's mobile application, aims to provide strong authentication, data encryption and advanced protection against malware attacks. Users are expected to be able to seamlessly make fund transfer directly from their bank accounts to their friends via P2P payments using mobile numbers.

JETCO leverages its inter-bank network of trusted financial brands and has launched P2P inter-bank fund transfer services known as JETCO Pay in tandem with 12 banks.

"We are glad to have partnered with an industry leader in security and payment solution. Gemalto's Ezio solution not only reduces our time to market, but also fully complies with Hong Kong Monetary Authority's security requirements,” JETCO Hong Kong CEO Angus Choi said.

“Looking ahead, we will keep pursue and exploit exciting business opportunities together as we both share commitment to deliver world-class products and services to our customers in Hong Kong and beyond.”
