Netflix is reportedly in talks with cable and IPTV provider Wasu Media Group and other potential partners in its attempt to enter China’s online video market.

Given China’s strict controls over licensing for online content, Netflix would require a local partner that has licenses for content on all devices — including mobile phones, computers and set-top boxes.

China’s State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television has given Internet TV licenses to seven companies, including Wasu.
