NTT Com said its Shanghai Pudong Data Center commenced operations on November 20.

The center, NTT Com’s third data center in Shanghai, offers approximately 2,600 square meters of server room, equivalent to 1,000 racks.

NTT Com expects its new facility to help meet the increasing demand for reliable, advanced data center services in the Chinese data center market, which grew 20% the previous year.

The Shanghai Pudong Data Center will be NTT Com’s first data center in China capable of total-service design, construction and operation for customers. The center provides optimal data center services to customers in fields including finance, manufacturing and IT services.

NTT Com is expanding its data center services in China to include not only colocation but also primary cloud services, such as its Enterprise Cloud. The Japanese telco offers next-generation data center services under the Nexcenter brand worldwide.
