Oracle has acquired Silver Lake Systems, developer of the product data quality solution DataLens, for an undisclosed sum.

DataLens has been designed to simplify complex product descriptions, allowing enterprises to more efficiently manage product data.

Oracle said it will use Silver Lake's assets to enhance its product data quality offerings across a range of enterprise applications, including its product information and product lifecycle management suites.

“Lack of standardized product data continues to be a challenge for many enterprises,” Oracle Fusion Middleware senior vice president Hasan Rizvi said, adding that the acquisition will help the company address these needs.
