Savvis has announced the completion of its Singapore data center expansion, with an addition to its Hong Kong facility set to complete by November this year.

The developments in Asia form part of a global initiative to expand the St. Louis-based company's data center footprint, targeted at catering to growing global demand for enterprise cloud, managed hosting, network and colocation services.

The initiative includes completed and in-progress expansions to Savvis' data centers in Boston, Atlanta and Washington DC.

Expansions in progress include Savvis's facilities in London and in three more US cities. Savvis also opened a second data center in the UK earlier this year.

The expansions and additions offer approximately 85,000 square feet of new space, boosting the company's total available data center space to around 2.4 million square feet across some 50 data centers in North America, Europe and Asia.
