SingTel and Ericsson have announced they expect to achieve Singapore-wide deployment of a 900-MHz LTE network by the end of March.

The network will allow SingTel to offer customers deeper indoor 4G coverage across the city. The upgrade will allow the operator to offer nationwide three-carrier aggregation with download speeds of over 300Mbps.

SingTel is currently the only operator in Singapore to operate a tri-band LTE network on the 900-MHz, 1800-MHz and 2600-MHz bands.

"Network innovation has always been a priority for Singtel and Singapore has always been an innovation test bed for the group,” SingTel managing director of networks for consumer Singapore Tay Yeow Lian said.

“This LTE-900 boost is part of our ongoing network investments to deliver an unrivalled 4G LTE experience, which is important to our customers.”

SingTel launched Singapore's first dual-band LTE network in collaboration with Ericsson in 2014, and last year launched the first tri-band network in Southeast Asia.
