Singapore’s StarHub has launched a new mobile app allowing mobile customers to have two numbers on a single SIM.

The operator’s new 2-in-1 LINE app will allow users to initiate calls or SMS using a secondary mobile number while keeping the primary line active for data access and receiving calls and SMS.

The app includes features including a voicemail inbox supporting personalized greetings, call filtering/blocking options and a separate mobile address book and call/text logs for the secondary number.

StarHub senior vice president of mobility Chan Kin Hung said with the new service, StarHub aims to “empower prosumers who increasingly want to maintain work-life integration by managing essential and casual communications across different numbers without carrying two SIMs or phones wherever they go.”

The 2-in-1 LINE app is available for Android and iOS. Use of the service will cost S$5.35 ($4.28) per month.

To promote the service StarHub is offering three months of free access and unlimited local SMS to customers who sign up before December 31.
