Taiwan's Asia-Pacific Telecom (APT) has launched VoLTE services, and revealed it has reached 1 million 4G subscribers.

APT has decided to deploy VoLTE services now that there are 10 smartphone models from six vendors on the market that support the technology, DigiTimesreported.

The operator is introducing VoLTE services with additional charges, according to the report.

APT has also agreed to act as a Taiwan sales agent for the robot jointly developed by Japanese operator Softbank and major APT shareholder Foxconn Electronics. The company will initially market the Pepper robot at enterprises.

APT also plans to work with local companies and developers to develop software applications specifically for marketing the robot solution.

Foxconn will meanwhile set up a robot company to establish a cloud platform for the Pepper ecosystem, handle application certification and provide customer support and maintenance services.
