Tata Communications has launched a new service allowing OTTs and cloud providers to add telecom services including voice calls and text messages to their offerings.
The global service provider has launched its new mobile local number service (LNS), which will let providers assign dedicated local numbers to their customers.
OTT or cloud providers will be able to call or text customers using a local number to reduce the cost of service delivery Mobile operators will benefit from the ability to lease numbers to these providers.
With the service, an end-customer makes a call to a local number, and this traffic is then routed to the provider via Tata Communications' global IP network to the device of the customer service representative. Enterprises will be able to incorporate the service into centralized helpdesks.
“OTTs and cloud communications companies need a better way to get local mobile numbers than by going operator-to-operator,” Tata SVP of product and business strategy for global voice solutions Christian Michaud said.
“Thanks to our relationships with over 1,600 service providers, mobile LNS enables cloud communication providers and mobile operators to enter new markets and scale quickly and efficiently.”
Tata's partnership network will allow it to offer the service in over 100 countries.
