Hong Kong, Feb 2, 2010 – The search is on for Asia’s best-run telecom carriers with the kickoff of the annual Telecom Asia Awards (http://awards.telecomasia.net/), the region’s longest-running and most prestigious telecom industry awards, to be held April 20 at the Capella, Singapore.

The awards, now in their 13th year, reward innovative and outstanding performance by Asian service providers and industry executives. This year’s awards have been expanded to cover convergence services, business diversification and green telecom capabilities.

Winners in 12 categories will be chosen from more than 100 fixed, mobile and convergence telecom operators from around the region, Telecom Asia Group Editor Joseph Waring announced today.

Award winners are chosen from a shortlist of candidates nominated by Telecom Asia readers, judges and editors. Final selection is made by an independent panel of industry experts, who will cast votes on the basis of innovation, financial performance, technology, market leadership and corporate governance.

Readers are invited to nominate candidates in the following categories:
  • Best Asian Telecom Carrier
  • Telecom CEO of the Year
  • Best Convergence Services
  • Best Content Strategy
  • Green Telecom Award
  • Disruptive Technology Award

Nominations can be made online at http://awards.telecomasia.net/.

“This year’s awards put much greater emphasis on innovation and execution strategies,” Mr. Waring said. “We are seeking the providers who can create fresh business segments and products and execute on them.”
