MMA announces new board of directors for China
The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) has announced a new board of directors for China. The board has ten members, with Tony Chen from GroupM Interaction China, and KF Lee from Aegis Media China as co-chairs. Chen takes up the post of co-chair for a second term.
The new board comprises four committees that will be the main drivers for all of MMA China’s initiatives, identifying their own priorities in conjunction with the MMA’s regional initiatives. Together with the regional board of directors elected in October 2013, they will serve the growing needs of mobile marketers in China.
Mauro Montanaro joins Newkia as global sales head
Newkia, a Singapore-based mobile phone startup set up by former Nokia employees, has appointed Mauro Montanaro as global head of sales. Montanaro has at the same time become a shareholder of Newkia and a founding Partner.
This is the second recent top executive appointment by Newkia, coming hot on the heels of the selection of former Nokia and Blackberry Asia-Pacific head, Urpo Karjalainen, as CEO.
Prior to joining Newkia, Montanaro was the general manager for Asia Pacific for Microsoft's consumer business. Before Microsoft he was CEO of Fox Mobile Group, based in the USA.
Prior to joining Fox Mobile Group, Mauro worked for Nokia for 12 years, where he served in a number of executive positions during the most successful period for the Finnish company. Most recently, he served as VP of sales and GM for South-East Asia for Nokia’s Mobile and Smartphone division where he oversaw sales, marketing and operations for the South-East Asia region.
