Telstra has extended its Cisco Intercloud platform to include Hong Kong and Singapore.

The Cisco Cloud Services platform in Australia is also now live in trial mode for selected Telstra customers and partners in Australia.

Cisco Cloud Services is an OpenStack based infrastructure as a service offering, adding a public cloud offering to Telstra’s existing infrastructure capabilities in Australia, Asia and Europe.

“Through our strategic relationship with Cisco, development of the Cisco Intercloud has progressed well in Australia with Telstra customers and partners now trialing the service. Ultimately this will create more choice and flexibility for our customers as they choose their future cloud environments,” said Erez Yarkoni, executive director of cloud at Telstra.

Nick Earle, senior vice-president of global cloud sales and go-to-market for Cisco, said, “hybrid clouds are quickly becoming the new normal, so we are extremely pleased that Telstra is already putting Cisco Cloud Services in the hands of Australian customers.

“With the expansion of Intercloud to Hong Kong and Singapore, Telstra’s leading the way in providing customers with an incredible choice of services across private and public clouds and the flexibility in how to consume them.”
