Telekom Malaysia (TM) has launched a mobile app to make its IPTV service, named HyppTV, available to customers via mobile device even if they are not subscribed to TM’s UniFi or Streamyx broadband services.
With this new offering, TM hopes to attract more viewers from the tech-savvy Gen-Y segment while enabling more Malaysians to watch HyppTV anywhere and anytime.
VP for business and media operations at TM’s new media business unit Emily Wee said the new IPTV over mobile service will come bundled with a seven-day free viewing period.
“Taking the best features of HyppTV, such as weather-proof entertainment, flexibility in terms of paying for only what you want to watch, HyppTV Everywhere now makes it more convenient for customers to enjoy their content when they are on the move,” added Wee.
The seven-day free viewing period is available to customers who download the app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
