The study finds that the continuing increase in smartphone adoption and the rise of geosocial networking will push the numbers of mobile social media users from 650 million this year to 1.3 billion by 2016, while total spending on virtual goods and premium subscriptions is expected to reach a global total of $4.7 billion by 2016.

It also examines the defining advantages and difficulties surrounding the mobile social web and mobile dating markets, as well as multiplicity of approaches of advertising and content.
