There's much confusion about IMS vs SDP. What strategy are you encouraging your clients to take‾
We view IMS and SDP as highly complementary. Oracle's pragmatic approach to IMS leverages the Oracle Communications service delivery set of products. These represent a standards-based software environment that enables operators to rapidly deliver new IP multimedia and converged services incrementally on existing network infrastructures, while they build out their next-generation networks.
This approach enables operators to differentiate their service offerings and meet customer expectations today without relying on hard-coded monolithic architectures. It is also independent of the pace of their network modernization plans.
What is the key attraction for telcos to move to SDP‾
The concept of SDP has evolved from basic content delivery to a method for integrating legacy and IP-based networks to a way that drives new revenues by exposing the communications network to third-party application developers. Operators need to address today's SDP, which includes all of these components, as well as the ability to integrate smoothly with business and operational support systems to easily activate services, manage subscriber data and bill for services.
What is Oracle's key objective at the BBWF‾
To showcase Oracle Communications' complete, open and integrated footprint, vision and strategy in the industry. With many customers and partners in this region, this is a great chance to network and find potential collaboration opportunities with communications trendsetters in the region.
