Despite an ongoing dispute between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Multan Sultans, the country’s premier Twenty20 league has secured a crucial two-year title sponsorship deal with Habib Bank Limited (HBL).

The partnership ensures that the next two seasons will continue under the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) banner as HBL PSL 11 and 12, reaffirming the bank’s association that began with the league’s inception in 2016.
PCB chief executive Salman Naseer described the deal as a major milestone in challenging times.
We are absolutely delighted and extremely grateful to HBL for extending their historic association with the Pakistan Super League for HBL PSL 11 and 12.
Multan Sultan Dispute Casts Shadow Over League
The new agreement comes even as tensions simmer between the PCB and the league’s most expensive franchise, Multan Sultans. The franchise received a termination notice over financial issues, while team owner Ali Tareen has publicly criticised the league’s management, creating uncertainty over the franchise’s future. Concerns were raised that the dispute could derail the sponsorship talks, but the PCB managed to seal the deal, signalling stability amid off-field turbulence.
Sponsorship Value Soars 505% Since Inception
According to the PCB, the value of the PSL’s Title Sponsorship Rights has increased by 505% since the inaugural season — a reflection of the league’s growing commercial clout and global recognition. The board also announced that all six existing franchises have been revaluated by an international audit firm, and owners will be invited to re-bid at 25% above their current valuations.
Expansion Plans on the Horizon
The PCB is eyeing further growth, with two new teams likely to be added from the next edition. Discussions are ongoing for potential franchises from Faisalabad, Sialkot, Khairpur, and Hyderabad. Venues for the upcoming season will be announced once the re-bidding process concludes. Peshawar and Faisalabad are among the new cities expected to host matches.
PSL to Continue in IPL Window
Like last year, PSL 11 is expected to take place during the April–May IPL window, allowing Pakistan to attract international players not picked in the Indian Premier League. The PCB maintains that the PSL remains the second-largest T20 league globally — a claim the board says is supported by sponsorship growth, international player participation, and rising broadcast reach.
