BLAST Premier World Final 2021 Announcement: Another Million Dollars For NaVi

That is the last tournament in 2021. Eight of the world's best teams in the BLAST Premier tournament series will participate. Also, this number includes two CIS teams, which will fight for a million dollars and try to close a successful year with another victory. 

Tournament Format

• The top lineup of participants. Eight of the best teams in the world (only Virtus.pro is missing);
• No groups, just playoffs;
• The playoff format is double elimination, which means you must lose two matches to be dropped out of the tournament;
• All matches will have a best of 3 format. No exceptions;
• Copenhagen, Lan, studio, but no spectators due to coronavirus situation worsening;
• $1,000,000 prize pool, the biggest part of which will go to the winner of the tournament

Natus Vincere — Team Liquid

Opening Match

The world ranking leader Natus Vincere meets the nominally weakest team in the tournament's opening match. NaVi is in good shape. Guys want to make their names in CS:GO history, ready to smash their opponents at each tournament. They took a short break after their victory at the autumn BLAST Premier. They rested, practised and came to Copenhagen in a good mood.

But Team Liquid also showed at the last IEM Winter that it's too early for them to retire. Although Liquid likely plays their last tournament with their current lineup, the guys go away as good friends and want to make a loud announcement. Some are still hoping to get into the new Team Liquid lineup as, according to the rumours, there will be very high salaries and a goal to fight for the world top. This BLAST may even be their last major championship in life for some people. Team Liquid is in shape. They don't have any responsibility. The guys play as relaxed as possible. So it won't be easy for NaVi.

Gambit Esports — Heroic

Opening Match

Gambit Esports had a fantastic 2021. The team won several major tournaments online, crossed the LAN tournaments barrier that all young teams face by winning quite a big tournament, V4 Festival Budapest. The Guys had a very hard time at IEM Winter. They couldn't get into the game. They lost rounds. They were unstable while playing on maps. So they had to make three heroic comebacks. They were able to do that twice in the group level tournament, but they were a bit unlucky in the quarterfinals against Vitality. However, Gambit was not weaker than the French team. If they had won that extra round in the extras for defence on Mirage map, there would have been a different champion at IEM Winter.

But everything happened as it is. Team Vitality comes to Copenhagen as the reigning champion of the big tournament. But we will talk about them later. Now let's talk about the Heroic team. This is one of the two teams that will play in the tournament with a substitute. Stavn won't be able to participate in the home BLAST Premier. That is why their former teammate b0RUP, who is now playing at Mad Lions, will play for Heroic. As long as CadiaN is in the lineup, Heroic will be a nasty opponent for absolutely everyone. It seems like the World Final won't be an exception. Although it's hard to believe the team will reach the finals because of some problems.

G2 Esports — Ninjas in Pyjamas

Opening Match

Two IEM Winter 2021 sensations at the BLAST Premier World Final 2021 meet in the first round. This time only Ninjas in Pyjamas, whose dev1ce has not yet solved his problems, will continue with the substitution. Although it's not too bad, the young phzy from the academy showed himself as a very worthy player. He dropped out in the first matches but quickly adapted, and in the same match against G2 Esports for the grand final, took responsibility in important episodes many times.

If NIP was lucky with the substitutions at the last tournament, then G2 Esports had a huge problem because of the game with kennyS. He played the tournament pretty well in terms of statistics, made some kills, even took rounds solo. But the problem is that he is playing solo. He had either blown himself up and killed all the enemies, or he had disappeared for a few rounds, leaving his team shorthanded. Stupid moves were there due to an excess of desire and a catastrophic lack of shape in the first few games. All of that led to the Kovacs brothers having to drag G2 Esports. They also took on the duties of the captain. Fortunately, nexa resolved his problems with his visa and flew to Copenhagen. With the full squad, with brothers, with not a top but reliable and stable sniper, G2 Esports will be one of the main favorites in the BLAST Premier World Final 2021. 

Team Vitality — Astralis

Opening Match

This is another home tournament for Astralis. The first easy month in the new squad is over. Now it's time to show the results of the work on training. Astralis are preparing for the new season very seriously. According to the rumours, k0nfig is in great shape. In practices with other teams, Lucky showed himself great. He slightly changed the role in the team. At the BLAST Premier World Final, we will see the renewed Astralis squad once again. But, this time, it will be updated not by the players but their roles. I wonder how the former champion will perform.

Also, let's speak about Team Vitality. There were a series of defeats at major tournaments from Natus Vincere. The CIS team defeated the Vitality team. Titles went out of their hands. Cups went to the team office in Kyiv, not in France. But finally, the trophy was won. Yes, everyone knows that at IEM Winter, there was no NaVi, and Gambit Esports was on the same level.

Moreover, everybody knows that NIP and G2 played with substitutions. But a trophy is a trophy. The following factors put Team Vitality on the same level as Natus Vincere, Gambit Esports and G2 Esports: the mental boost, the desire to work harder and harder and the players who are gaining good shape. Also, misutaaa and shox won several key rounds solo at the tournament in Stockholm. Team Vitality will appear among the top contenders for the final title in 2021 and 500 thousand US dollars for the first place.
