The Italian manager is currently in his second stint at the Bernabeu, and the 65-year-old guided Los Blancos to La Liga and Champions League glory last season.
Now per Radioestadio Noche on Onda Cero, the Italian coach will quit Los Blancos at the end of the current campaign, despite his current contract running until 2026 after renewing in December 2023. Ancelotti had earlier been rumored to be going to leave Madrid to become Brazil's manager.
Ancelotti has won two La Liga titles, two UEFA Champions Leagues, a Copa del Rey, two UEFA Super Cups, two Spanish Super Cups, one FIFA Club World Cup, and one FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
The 65-year-old has become the most decorated manager in Real Madrid’s history with the most number of trophies won.
Recently, Madrid lost the Spanish Super Cup final to their bitter rival, FC Barcelona, with a score of 5-2. Despite this setback, Madrid remains at the top of La Liga by two points and is still competing in both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
Former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso, who is now the head coach of Bayer Leverkusen, is seen as the leading candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti if the Italian decides to leave Madrid. Alonso, who has a history at the Bernabéu and has been successful with the German club, is highly regarded for this potential role.
