Brazil's all-time top goalscorer looks set to leave Al-Hilal after the club's manager claimed he was no longer capable of playing at the top level. According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Santos has tabled an official offer to Al-Hilal and are way ahead of Chicago Fire in the race to sign the forward.
Neymar joined the Saudi Pro League in a £78 million deal from PSG in the summer of 2023 but has since made just seven appearances for Al-Hilal. The club has confirmed that Neymar will not be registered for the second half of the Saudi Pro League season.
The former Barcelona star experienced a disastrous spell in Saudi Arabia, spending one year on the sidelines after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee just five games into his Al-Hilal career, and he sustained more injury problems on his return. He is currently recovering from a hamstring injury that he suffered in November in just his second game this season.
Neymar has also been rumored to be making a move to the MLS, with speculation raging in November after he purchased a €30 million property in Miami. The Brazilian enjoys a close relationship with Inter Miami duo Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez after the trio famously formed Barcelona’s attacking unit.
