The Athletic reported that the Portuguese tactician lost his temper during his critique of his players' disappointing performance over the weekend, with which he later labeled the team 'maybe the worst team in United's history' during his post-match press conference.
While venting about his team's performance, the Portuguese accidentally hit the TV, which will need to be fixed ahead of their Europa League match against Rangers on Thursday night.
Amorim hasn’t improved the Red Devils’ position in the Premier League table since he took over from Erik ten Hag in November, with United currently sitting 13th in the Premier League table with 26 points, closer to the relegation zone (10 points) than they are to the top four.
“In [the past] 10 games in Premier League, we won two. Imagine what this is for a fan of Manchester United. Imagine what this is for me. “We are getting a new coach who is losing more than the last coach. I have full knowledge of that. “We are the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United. I know you [media] want headlines but I am saying that because we have to acknowledge that and to change that. Here you go: your headlines.”
United's home record this season is the club’s worst in 131 years. They have not lost six games at Old Trafford in their first 12 league matches since the 1893-94 season, when they lost seven times.
