Meanwhile, 3G is only partially responsible for the microwave renaissance, according to Dan Sweeney, an analyst with Visant Strategies, with the technology's more traditional markets also seeing a surge in demand that will help push sales revenues up to $3.4 billion in sales globally in 2011.
'We don't only see mobile wireless backhaul helping the point-to-point microwave industry realize a large increase in unit shipments, but also trunking, public safety, and broadcast applications leading to more sales,' Sweeney says.
