Agilent Technologies will supply Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) with a platform for testing mobile Wimax applications.

ITRI will use Agilent's E6474A wireless network test platform for its M-Taiwan Wimax Applications Lab.

Six operators in Taiwan are expected to begin rolling out Wimax services in the second half of this year.

ITRI will use Agilent's Wimax test systems to enable this rollout of networks and services.

'Wimax technology and services will play an important role in ensuring that consumers have access to broadband services in this region,' said Dr. Ching-Tarng Hsieh, director of Wimax Forum Taiwan Office.
