India's Bharti Airtel has entered an agreement with Amazon India aimed at driving smartphone adoption across the country with a range of discounted devices.

As part of the partnership, Airtel will offer a total cashback offer of 2,600 rupees ($38) on over 65 Amazon.in exclusive smartphones from brands including Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Honour, LG, Lenovo and Motorola.

With the cashback offer the handsets will be offered at effective prices starting at just 3,399 rupees ($50).

The first 2,000 rupees of the cashback will be provided from Airtel over a period of 36 months if customers purchase at least 7,000 rupees of recharges over this period.

The remaining 600 rupees will be provided in the form of a 25 rupee deposit into the customer's Amazon Pay balance on Airtel recharges of 169 rupees on Amazon.in.

This recharge will provide unlimited STD and local voice calls and 1GB of data per day for 28 days.

The partnership with Amazon India will give further momentum to our ‘mera pehla smartphone (my first smartphone)’ initiative which has received an extremely positive response from customers across the country,” Airtel CMO Vani Venkatesh said.

“We will continue to deliver greater value to our customers and stride towards empowering every Indian to fulfill their dream of owning a smartphone and getting onto the digital superhighway.”
