Alcatel-Lucent has fired Asia-Pacific president Sean Dolan after just a year in the job.

It has tapped chief strategy officer Rajeev Singh-Molares, a former management consultant, to head up the regional business group.

Dolan was appointed just a year ago, taking over from 30-year Alcatel and Alcatel-Lucent veteran Etienne Fouques.

The company gave no reason for the dismissal.

CEO Ben Verwaayen said Singh-Molares was “the perfect person to take our already strong relationships with service providers, enterprises, and vertical markets throughout Asia Pacific to the next level – leveraging his strategic transformation expertise in working with customers to help them evolve their businesses and networks.”

Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent, Singh-Molares worked 18 as a consultant or senior partner at the Monitor Group, a consultancy founded by business guru Michael Porter.
