Alcatel-Lucent unveiled its new line of solutions designed to support advanced devices and applications.

The new breed of devices, such as IP cameras in video surveillance systems, smart IP desktop phones, 802.11n Wireless LAN (WLAN) access points, among others, need more resilient bandwidth with 10 Gigabit Ethernet, enhanced security at the network edge, and the ability to deliver sufficient Power Over Ethernet plus (PoE+) power.

The three new solutions launched by Alcatel-Lucent in support of its Application Fluent Network include the new OmniSwitch 6850E, 24 port PoE+ module for the OmniSwitch 9000E modular LAN chassis, and a new release of Alcatel-Lucent Operating System (AOS).

These solutions for the network are available now and are used by both enterprise customers for their corporate LAN edge and service provider partners to provide metro Ethernet services.
