The Daily Mail reports that a train company is going to use a high-tech film on its carriage windows to block cellphone signals. Travel firm c2c will use the coating on designated \'quiet\' cars to eliminate those incessant ringtones and 100 decibel one-sided conversations.

The coating is made from a combination of chemicals, plastics and metal and the blessedly quiet coaches will be available if you commute from Essex to Liverpool Street, London.
