India's Bharti Airtel has announced it will temporarily offer free access to the mobile version of Facebook for its 130 million mobile subscribers.

The operator said it will allow unmetered access to Facebook Mobile until August 31st.

The mobile site is available in English and Hindi, with five more Indian languages – Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam – to be added by July 15.

Airtel said it had worked closely with Facebook on the promotion and language additions.

Customers who have yet to browse the mobile internet can take advantage of the promotion by registering their intent via SMS.
