C-COM Satellite Systems has received its largest order to date for its iNetVu mobile antenna products from one of its resellers in Japan.

The iNetVu Mobile satellite antenna orders were received from C-COM’s Japanese reseller Telemann Communications in Tokyo and were a follow up on the initial orders from Japan reported previously. In excess of 100 iNetVu mobile antenna systems have been shipped within 3 days of an urgent request for assistance to replace downed cellular towers in the tsunami affected regions of Japan. A total of 210 units have been delivered to date, with another 100 units expected to ship before the end of May.

The iNetVu mobile antennas are providing emergency cellular back-up communications to one of Japan’s large cellular operators, which is integrating these

with their own proprietary pico cell technology using IPSTAR satellite bandwidth.

C-COM has dispatched a number of its employees to the tsunami affected regions of Japan, free of charge, to assist Telemann with the quick deployment of the antennas which were able to deliver cellular communications to the affected areas within 8 minutes of arrival.
