Cable confusion

Microsoft recently announced its Mediaroom TV platform had won a contract with Guangzhou Digital for what it called the 'first full-fledge IPTV service delivered over a cable network'. Which was good news for Microsoft, and presumably Guangzhou Digital, and it won headlines around the world.

Except for the fact that it was wrong. It wasn't even the first in China, being three years behind a Hangzhou cable deployment.

Microsoft's PR agency offered its 'sincere apologies for the confusion caused.'
