China Mobile, NTT make top 50 of Global Fortune 500

China Mobile and Japan's NTT have made the top 50 of the latest annual Fortune Global 500 list of the world's largest companies by revenue.

China Mobile took 47th place on the list, with revenues of $107.11 billion, with NTT in 50th with revenues of $105.12 billion.

Other Asian operators in the top 500 list include SoftBank (77th place with revenues of $82.89 billion), China Telecom (133rd with revenues of $62.38 billion, KDDI (219th with revenues of $43.82 billion) and China Unicom (241st with revenues of $41.27 billion).

Globally, 18 telecom operators made the to 500 list. The highest ranked were US operator AT&T (19th with revenues of $163.78 billion) and Verizon (32nd with revenues of $125.98 billion), followed by China Mobile.

Apple took the top spot among companies in the technology sector, and ninth place overall, with revenues of $215.63 billion. Samsung was second in technology and 15th overall with revenues of $173.96 billion.

Teecoms vendors Nokia (415th with revenues of $26.11 billion), Ericsson (419th with revenues of $26 billion) and NEC (437th with $24.59 billion) made the list, with Cisco taking 187th with revenues of $49.24 billion.
