Gray clouds are swirling over Chunghwa Telecom's award of a cloud computer center contract to a consortium which includes IBM.

Next Magazine reports that the NT$6 billion ($187m) winning bid was NT$2 billion more than the cheapest bid.

And the winners reportedly filed some bidding documents late.

The kerfuffle has left CHT at logger heads with the Taiwan Stock Exchange, which has questioned why the IBM-backed group was allowed to file late documents.

CHT might have announced a contract, but the TWSE is yet to acknowledge the deal.
