CSL appoints ex-FarEasTone boss as CEO

Hong Kong cellco CSL has appointed Joseph O’Konek as its new CEO.

 

O’Konek, who was head of Taiwan operator FarEasTone from 1997-2002, will take up his appointment from May 31.

 

He replaces Tarek Robbiati, who was promoted to Group Managing Director of Telstra International in December 2009.

 

O’Konek is currently executive vice president at 3S Network, a wireless engineering firm in Bellevue, Washington state.
 
He was previously head of Nokia Siemens' prepaid and convergence billing software product business.  He will report to Robbiati and to the CSL board.
