Finnish operator DNA has installed Comptel's Policy Control suite in an effort to prevent bill shock among its customers.

Comptel said DNA had implemented the system in order to enable customers to limit the amount they spend on data while roaming.

The move is DNA's way of complying with the EU's new roaming regulations, which order operators to offer customers a cut-off limit for data roaming in advance of each month’s bill.

Customers can choose to be served with a notification, or have mobile browsing disabled temporarily, once they exceed their pre-set limits.
