NEC said it has again been selected NTT DoCoMo as equipment provider for the latter's "Super 3G" network.
NEC said it will supply core network EPC systems to DoCoMo's next-generation wireless network. The company previously announced it will supply wireless base stations and terminals to DoCoMo.
Super3G is an advanced version of the W-CDMA-extended technologies HSDPA and HSUPA, and enables data transmission speeds of 100Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink.
EPC supports high speed applications between mobile phones or between mobile phones and data servers, according to NEC.
