Eris Telecom, the international carrier unit of Virgin Mobile Middle East & Africa, has selected DIGITALK Carrier Cloud solution to support its routing and management of international voice traffic.

The adoption of a cloud solution enables Eris to expand capacity and its services in new territories rapidly with the scalability to match its growth objectives.

With the DIGITALK Carrier Cloud, Eris Telecom can arrange its own carrier agreements, set up interconnects, upload rates, and configure routing plans, on demand and in real-time, all without the need for any hardware deployment. The solution offered a low capex approach to expanding its international gateway capacities with the flexibility to grow with a pay-per-use model.

DIGITALK Carrier Cloud includes all the carrier inter-working capabilities of DIGITALK SBC VoIP Peering. Network capabilities include flexible signalling interworking, SIP session high availability, and dynamic media transcoding.

“With DIGITALK Carrier Cloud, we get a quick and ready-to-use solution supporting most of our network call routing and management requirements. It simplifies our approach with flexibility and will help us grow our international voice traffic matching our ambitions in the Middle East and Africa,” said Tariq Siddique, director voice services at Eris Telecom.
