Ethernet sales help ADVA swing back to black

Ethernet equipment revenue helped vendor ADVA Optical Networking swing back to profit for both 2009 and the fourth quarter of the year.

The company posted a full-year net profit of €1.3 million ($1.78 million), compared to a €7 million loss from 2008. For the December quarter, the company swung to a profit of €1.4 million from a loss of €2.2 million the year before.

Ethernet access and carrier infrastructure sales helped revenue grow 7% to the equivalent of €232.8 million during the year.

ADVA expects revenue in the range of €57 million - €62 million during Q1.
