Ethernet service aggregation switch

Ciena has added a new service aggregation switch to its carrier Ethernet service delivery portfolio.

The new switch, CN 5150, boasts the ability to provide scalable subscriber capacity and deterministic Ethernet behavior, Ciena said.

It can operate in controlled or uncontrolled temperature environments, and supports temperature ranges from -40Es to +65EsC.

CN 5150 supports up to 256,000 MAC addresses as well as the IEEE 1588v2 precision timing protocol, and includes 48 x 1Gbps and up to 4 x 10Gbps Ethernet ports.
