StarHub pioneers commercial HSPA+ in Singapore

StarHub has launched Singapore's first commercial HSPA+ service on its recently upgraded network and devices provided by Huawei. Branded as MaxMobile Elite, StarHub's HSPA+ service offers download speeds up to 21Mbps nationwide, the island's fastest mobile broadband connection.

Nokia Siemens Networks brings mobile broadband to Vietnam

Viettel has tapped Nokia Siemens Networks to set up Vietnam's first 3G network that will go online by early next year. Under the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will provide the hardware, software and services needed to build and manage the network, including skills training for Viettel’s team.

Huawei, Viettel deploy 3G HSPA+ network in Vietnam

Huawei Technologies said Viettel had awarded it a contract to deploy a HSPA+ network in Vietnam, which will enable the latter to provide mobile broadband speeds of up to 21Mbps. Huawei is committed under contract to build 3,000 base stations in Vietnam including the areas of Hanoi, Danang and part of Ho Chi Minh City.

P1 W1MAX sets East Malaysia roll out in 2010

Packet One Networks (Malaysia) said its P1 W1MAX service could be available in Sabah and Sarawak by as early as 2010. P1 also said it is on track to meet its target of covering 35% of Malaysia’s population within this year.
