FASTTAKES: FACT, Microsoft, Sprint

The Freedom Against Censorship Thailand (FACT) has filed a petition asking for an end to online censorship. The group submitted the petition, signed by 30 individuals including many academics, to the Thai Human Rights Commission.

Microsoft unveils its Office Live suite of online business software in the US. The software giant said it will release test versions in Europe and Japan next week.

Sprint Nextel plans to put Microsoft's search engine on its mobile phones, marking the software maker's most significant step to gain a foothold in the budding mobile Internet search market. The search engine can look for news, sports scores and ringtones within the carrier's own mobile portal.
