Listed Indian tower firm GTL Infrastructure has reportedly agreed to buy Aircel’s tower assets for $1.8b in a deal which will boost its tower count to 32,000.

Domestic shipments of mobile and PHS handsets in Japan fell 10% to 3.1m units in the year to November, according to the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association.
